60 Class 10 students of Billabong in Malad were stunned to learn that they found the examination center for the board exams to be held about 26 km away from their school and residence. The minor papers for CBSE class 10th and 12th students started from November 16, while the major papers are scheduled to start from November 30 this year. Concerned about the time taken by the students to travel to and from the examination centre, the parents contacted the regional office of CBSE in Pune, where the authorities have now assured them of a change in the examination centre.

The mother of one of the students said, “As it is not tough enough to prepare for the exam, our children were expected to travel 50 kms every day (commuting) for the exam. I was thinking of booking a hotel room near the exam center for my daughter and myself.”

Starting this academic year, CBSE decided to conduct the board exams in two rounds- the first round of which is currently underway. Answer of 90 minutes objective type question papers will be given on OMR sheet.

Let us inform, M Dharmadhikari of CBSE Regional Office in Pune told Hindustan Times that complaints from parents of the school have been received and new hall tickets will be issued early next week.
