HSSC Constable Selection Process :

Physical Measurement (PMT)

PMT-Height Marks (Advantage Score)
175 CM 05
Above178 CM 06
Above 181 CM 08
From 184 CM and above 10

Note:- Candidates less than 175 CM would not be qualified.

  1. Chest:- 83 cms plus a minimum expansion of 4 cm.

Note:- Candidates having chest measurement less than 83 CM would not be qualified.

(Relaxation of 2 cms in Height and Chest will be given only to SC/ST and BC category candidates. No such relaxation is available to EWS category candidates).

  1. The candidates who fail to meet the standards prescribed for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) shall stand eliminated from further selection process.
  2. Only the candidates who qualify the standards prescribed for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) shall take part in the further process of Selection.

Physical Screening Test (PST)

There shall be following three tests for physical screening test.

here shall be following three tests of 10 marks each ie the total marks for PST shall be 30. A candidate shall have to qualify all the 3 tests prescribed. Any candidate who fails to qualify any of the tests will not be allowed to take part in the further process of selection. The prescribed tests, qualifying standards and marks shall be as under:

Knowledge Test

Exam Pattern :

Exam Pattern for the Written Exam is as Follows:-

  • Exam Will be Objective Type.
  • The knowledge test shall be of only 60 marks.
  • The knowledge test shall be of objective type having Hundred (100) multiple choice questions of 0.60 marks each.
  • The Time Duration of Written Exam Will be Ninety (90) minutes.
  • There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
  • The medium of examination shall be bilingual ie both in Hindi as well as in English.

General Studies In this objective of questions about general knowledge of surrounding society of the candidates to test the awareness about surrounding activities. History of India (Haryana mostly) & its Adjacent Countries, Culture, Geography, Economical Scenario and Constitution of India & State Administration, Political series of Country, Five-Year Plan, Contribution of Haryana in National Movement.

Agriculture – Knowledge of History/ Facts of Agriculture, Fruits & Vegetable, Crop Production, Soil, Fertility, Fertilizing, Irrigation and Damage, Weed/Pests Control, Types of Crops, Soil & Land, Horticulture, Plantation and Deforestation etc.

Animal Husbandry – Animal Nutrition and nutritional importance, Animal breeds, importance of animal, Livestock farming, Dairy, diseases and symptoms in animal etc.

Reasoning It will include the question of both verbal and non-verbal type. Question will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, problem solving, relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns etc.

Current Affairs – Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, General Science, General Knowledge. Focus will be mainly on Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture.

Numerical Ability – The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.

General Science – These tests are designed to test the knowledge and competencies for scientific methodology concepts, principles, techniques and physics, chemistry, life sciences (Biology), the earth/space sciences, technologies etc.
