Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched MA (Master) studies program in Journalism and Mass Communication Studies (MAJMC), which is all set to start from January 2022. The most unique thing about this course is that it is being offered in online mode.
The inaugural function of the said study program was led by IGNOU Vice Chancellor Nageshwar Rao and informed that the medium of instruction for the program is being fixed for Hindi and other regional languages as well. He continued by saying that the duration of the course is two years and is offered by the School of Journalism and New Media Studies at IGNOU.He informed that the objective of the online master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication is to develop skilled human resource in the field of media and communication. It will also open up opportunities for those who are already employed in media organizations without formal training, to enhance their knowledge and competency levels.

Candidates wishing to enroll in the course must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline to apply for the course. They should also have basic knowledge of computer, internet and MS word to facilitate smooth communication through email.
