National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to cooperate in the field of Renewable energy and mutually explore opportunities for supply of low carbon/RE RTC (round the clock) captive power. This is a first of its kind initiative by India’s two leading national energy companies, to support the country’s commitment to achieve renewable energy targets and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This comes after IndianOil announced plans to build the country’s first green hydrogen plant at its Mathura refinery.
