Maharashtra E. Will be the first state in the country to issueEducational documents using blockchain technology. Counterfeiting of documents is a serious concern for various educational and other institutions. Along with the verification of documents, several steps are being taken to avoid forgery. Maharashtra State Skill Development Board has decided to issue blockchain-based certificates to the students.
Around 10 lakh digital certificates will be issued to diploma holders of eight academic years. Mr Malik said that Singapore, Malta and Bahrain are the only countries to use this technology. Maharashtra will be the first Indian state to have educational certificates and the world’s largest user of blockchain. Each student will receive a “certificate_legitdoc.zip” digital file containing the original PDF diploma certificate and its associated blockchain proof file. It can be verified from anywhere in the world within 10 seconds and does not require human intervention.
