LIVE Market Updates: The benchmark indices opened on a positive note on Monday, extending the strong rally of the previous session. The BSE Sensex was up 174 points at 60,570 and the NSE Nifty was up 44 points at 18,047. ,

In the broader market, the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were also in the green and were up 0.2 and 0.6 per cent, respectively.

Among stocks, Vodafone Idea shares fell 10 per cent on the BSE after the company said the government would hold around 36 per cent stake in the wireless phone operator after its board approved conversion of dues into equity. This will result in dilution for all existing shareholders of the company including the founders, it said.

Among individual stocks, Delta Corp, Ganesh Housing, Hathway Bhavani are likely to be in focus as these companies announce their December quarter results today.Indo Count Industries may also be in the limelight as rating agency ICRA has upgraded its credit rating for the company’s long-term bank facilities and reaffirmed the credit rating for short-term bank facilities.
