CBSE on Wednesday announced that only 11% of the private and correspondence candidates registered for the Class 12 examination have passed.

As per the data shared by CBSE, a total of 94.405 students had registered for the exam. Of these, 58,356 students were private students, 34,317 were regular and the remaining 1732 were correspondence or correspondence students.

“The regular category candidates were already declared pass and appeared in this examination with the aim of improving their performance,” CBSE said in a statement.

Out of 58,356 private candidates, only 9,851 passed and 13,979 secured compartment. Out of 1,732 correspondence students, only 902 passed and 248 secured compartment.

The compartment exam for class 12 was conducted from August 25 to September 15. The exam was conducted at 1,399 exam centers across the country and abroad.

The results of CBSE class 12 board annual examination were declared on July 30 this year. Around 1.5 million students had registered for the CBSE Class 12 Exam 2021. The Class 12 exam had to be canceled due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country. The board later constituted a committee to prepare the Class 12 evaluation criteria, on the basis of which the results were declared.
