Singapore-India Wax will operate 6 daily flights from November 29

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on Sunday said that Singapore’s vaccination travel lane (VTL) with India will commence from November 29, with six designated flights daily from Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai.

According to a report by Channel News Asia (CNA), the CAAS said that it has entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Civil Aviation of India on the resumption of scheduled commercial passenger flights between the two countries.

The authority said that VTP applications will be open for those wishing to enter Singapore from November 29 to January 21, 2022.

However, it “strongly encouraged” those who intend to enter Singapore after December 1 to apply after November 24, CNA reported.

Applications for the Vaccination Travel Pass (VTP) for short-term visitors and long-term pass holders from India will begin at 6 pm Singapore time on November 22.

“All short-term visitors and long-term pass holders who meet VTL requirements will receive VTP,” it said.

CAAS said airlines can also operate non-VTL flights between India and Singapore, although passengers on non-VTL flights will be subject to existing public health requirements.

“CAAS understands that passengers are awaiting the launch of VTL and would like to assure passengers that there is no need to rush to apply for VTP,” the authority said.

As reported by CNA, the authority also urged short-term visitors and long-term pass holders to apply for a VTP to enter Singapore under the VTL.

VTP applications for travelers from Indonesia and Malaysia will open on November 22 at 10 am Singapore time.

Applications for travelers from Finland, India and Sweden will begin on the same day at 6 pm Singapore time.

“Travellers from these countries will not be able to apply for VTP earlier (before the stipulated time),” the CAAS said.

To facilitate the application process, VTP applicants must have their passport and digital proof of vaccination. They should also know the address of the place where they intend to self-isolate while awaiting the results of the COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on their arrival, the CAAS release said.

The CAAS said that travelers who require a visa to travel to Singapore should apply for their visa separately and only after their VTP is approved.

“They must also purchase travel insurance with a minimum coverage of Singapore USD 30,000 for medical treatment and hospitalization costs related to COVID-19 before traveling to Singapore. In Singapore, these visitors are required to use the TraceTogether app to facilitate contact tracing. must also be used,” added the authority.
