Educational Qualification:
Police Sub Inspector (Confidential) –
- Bachelor’s degree from a University established by law in India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government,
- Hindi typing (in Unicode on Inscript keyboard) with a speed of not less than 25 words per minute and English typing with a speed of not less than 30 words per minute.
- Hindi shorthand dictation with a minimum speed of 80 words per minute. Based on accuracy as determined by Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board Candidates will be declared successful.

Police Assistant Sub Inspector (Accounts) –
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Master’s Diploma in Accountancy from a University established by law in India or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government,

- Must have passed “O” level examination in Computer from National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT Society) (formerly Doyk Society), Government of India or any qualification recognized by the Government as equivalent thereto.
Preferential Qualification:
Other things being equal, preference will be given to a candidate who:
- Higher certification from DOEACC/NIELIT Society or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application/Technology recognized by the Government or higher qualification,
- Graduation in Law from an Institution or College or University recognized by the University Grants Commission,
- Must have served at least two years in the Territorial Army
- Possess ‘B’ certificate of National Cadet Corps.
