Vodafone Idea will hike tariffs by 20-25% from November 25, as follows

Following Bharti Airtel’s announcement yesterday, Vodafone Idea on Tuesday said it will increase its telecom charges by at least 20 per cent from November 25.
Vodafone Idea (Vi) is increasing the prepaid tariff by 20-25 percent and the top-up plan tariff by 19-21 percent. The new tariff plans will “start the process of improving ARPU (average revenue per user) and help address the financial stress faced by the industry,” the company said in a press release.

Airtel and Vi hiked rates for entry-level prepaid plans and some postpaid and family packs a few months back, and their latest announcement will affect rates across all slabs (current Rs 79 – Rs 2399). V hiked rates in the entry-level slab by 25 per cent. All other slabs have been hiked by 20 per cent. The rates for data top-up have also been increased.
Prepaid customers account for 90-95 per cent of Airtel and Vi’s customer base. Airtel currently has the highest ARPU among telecom operators. It recorded an ARPU of Rs 153 in the second quarter of FY 2022. Reliance Jio and Vi reported ARPUs of Rs 143.6 and Rs 109, respectively.
